About KSCSTE Environment & Ecology Programme 2023
If you are a research scholar then you will be easily able to apply for the prestigious program created by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Kerala. This scholarship opportunity is only available for research scholars. These research scholars will be provided rupees 30 lakh so that they can continue their research in India and provide proper opportunities related to scientific development for the country. The KSCSTE Environment & Ecology Programme will be provided in order to continue their research for a maximum duration of 3 years. Benefits Of KSCSTE Environment & Ecology Programme
The following benefits will be provided to the people applying for KSCSTE Environment & Ecology Programme:-
- The maximum grant for a project shall be Rs.30 lakh for three years. excluding overheads.
- The grant will be given for specific projects to cover expenditures on manpower, equipment, consumables, travel & contingencies.
- In the case of Research Proposals from Central Institutions, it is desirable that there may be a State Institution as a collaborator
- The research grant for the implementation of the project is released through the Implementing Institution.
- Implementing Institution is eligible for an overhead of @10% of total expenditure subject to a maximum of 1 lakh, on successful completion of the project and after the settlement of the SE&UC.
Themes Available
The research proposals are to be submitted in two stages. In the first stage, only pre-proposals will be invited. The detailed proposal needs to be submitted on intimation after reviewing and evaluating the pre-proposals. The proposal should fit into any of the following domain themes/sub-themes, which will be notified from time to time:-

Selection Criteria
The applicant will be selected on the basis of the following selection criteria:-
- The candidates will be shortlisted based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and the research proposal submitted.
- The research proposals are required to be submitted in two stages. In the first stage, only pre-proposals will be invited. The detailed proposal needs to be submitted on intimation after reviewing and evaluating the pre-proposals.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for this scheme:-
- Principal Investigator (PI) shall be a full-time Scientist of R&D Institutions /Regular Faculty of Research Centres/Departments of Universities, Government/ Aided Colleges in the State of Kerala
- The PI shall have more than five years of service period left for superannuation at the time of submission of the project proposal.
- PhD. is mandatory for the Principal Investigator (PI).
- In the case of research proposals from Centrally funded Institutions, it is desirable that there may be a State Institution as a collaborator.
- For interdisciplinary subjects, at least one of the Co-Investigators should be an Expert with commendable experience in the specialized field. However, the first Co-I shall be a scientist/faculty from the same Institution of PI with a minimum of 5 years period left for superannuation.
- Only full-time scientists/regular faculty can apply under the scheme as PI / Co-I.
- Research Scholars/students cannot apply and cannot include under the scheme as Investigators.
