To allow the meritorious students who have completed the 12th class examination in the current year and allow them to pursue higher education, the GP Birla scholarship was launched by the authority. Through this scholarship, the authority will provide financial assistance to the students and allow them to complete their higher education without going through any financial difficulty. All the students who are permanent residents of West Bengal and Jharkhand are eligible to avail the benefits of the scholarship. About GP Birla
Ganga Prasad Birla, widely known as GP Birla, was a prominent Indian industrialist and philanthropist from the widely known Birla family. He played a significant role in expanding the GP-CK Birla Group by overseeing companies like Hindustan Motors, Orient Papers and Industries and Hyderabad Industries Limited. To honour The Legacy of GP Birla, the Birla Group introduced the GP Birla Educational Foundation in 2012. The foundation offers scholarships to academically meritorious and financially disadvantaged students from West Bengal, enabling them to pursue higher education across diverse fields such as Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, Medicine, and Law.

Objective of GP Birla Scholarship
The main objective of launching the GP Birla scholarship is to allow students to pursue higher education without any financial restrictions. The scholarship is specially designed for students who belong to West Bengal and Jharkhand. Using the financial assistant, the meritorious students can easily pursue higher education without going through any difficulty. The financial assistance of INR 50000 will be given to the students for hostel and tuition fees. A one-time grant of INR 7000 will be given to the students for purchasing books in the first year. Based on the performance of the students, they can easily apply for the renewal of their scholarship until the end of their undergraduate degree.

Eligibility Criteria
- The students must be domiciled in West Bengal or Jharkhand.
- The students must have passed Class XII in the current year.
- The students must score a minimum required mark: 85% in WBCHSE/JAC or 90% in ISC/CBSE.
- The family income of the students must not exceed INR 3 lakh per year.
