What Is Banishree Scholarship Odisha 2025

The organization will now be providing the Banishree Scholarship to people who have completed their bachelor’s degrees. The financial assistance will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiaries through dbt mode. All the eligible institutes will upload the student details on the official website before the last date. Banishree Scholarship Amount Hike Update

As per the information shared by the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister Ashok Chandra Panda on Tuesday, the amount for the Banishree Scholarship Scheme for differently-abled students has been increased on the Odisha Chief Minister’s instruction. An estimated number of 23000 students will benefit from the scholarship hike amount. The increased amount of scholarships will be available for the students from the academic year 2023. The details of the amount increased by the Odisha Government for the students are given below.

Benefits Of Banishree Scholarship

The following benefits will be provided to the candidates in this scholarship:-

•  Primary School (Class I to V): Rs. 200 per month
•  Middle & High School (Class V to X): Rs. 250 per month
•  College (+2 and +3 level): Rs. 300 per month
•  College (PG level): Rs. 350 per month
•  Technical a Vocational Training: Rs. 350 per month
•  Technical & Vocational Courses outside the state: Rs. 350 per month

Allowances Available

The following allowances will be provided to the candidates in this scholarship:-

• Reader’s allowance shall be paid at Rs. 100 per month for primary classes 
• Reader’s allowance shall be paid at Rs. 150 per month for middle school 
• Reader’s allowance shall be paid at Rs. 200 per month for high school classes 
• A monthly allowance of 100 per month may be sanctioned for transport who has 75% or above disabilities
• Students who are studying outside the state shall get Rs. 250 per month

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scholarship:-

•  The applicant should be a bonafide resident of Odisha
•  The parental/ family income of the applicant is not more than Rs. 60,000 per annum
•  He/She should be a regular student of an educational institution
•  The applicant should not be receiving any financial assistance/stipend/scholarship from State Govt./ Central Govt. under any other scheme

Document Required 

The applicant must submit the following documents in this scholarship:-

• Mark-sheets of the last examination passed duly attested by the Head of the Institution (Principal/Head Master)
• Aadhar card
• Disability Certificate issued by Medical Board
• Income Certificate issued by Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tahsildar or any other officer of equivalent status
• Residence proof (e.g. certificate from residence authority)
• Domicile certificate
• Bank Details (e.g. Account number, Account holder name, IFSC code, MICR code)
• BPL ration card (If available)

• To apply offline for the scholarship program, first, you have to visit the sub-collector/ block development officer/ head of school/ colleges/ educational institutions.
• Now collect the scholarship form from the concerned department.
