The Gaden Phodrang Foundation has created The Dalai Lama Graduate Scholarship to provide scholarship opportunities to full-time Tibetan graduate students. Under this scholarship, financial assistance will be provided to the student to continue a master’s or doctoral degree in Europe, America, Australia, and Asia. This scholarship provides empowerment to Tibetan talent by supporting the student for the contribution to the well-being of Tibetans. All the applicants who have cleared the eligibility criteria can easily apply for this scholarship before the last date. The last day to apply for the scholarship is 20th April 2025. Objective of The Dalai Lama Graduate Scholarship

The primary objective of the Dalai Lama Graduate Scholarship is to provide scholarship opportunities to Tibetan students for human capital development. With the help of this scholarship, Tibetan students will be encouraged to pursue their education in the graduation field of study and contribute the potential for the Welfare of humanity and the Welfare of Tibetan people. This scholarship will provide USD 2.5  million to more than 240 Tibetan students so that they can study at top universities worldwide. The students can continue their education in fields such as medicine, law, engineering, business psychology, international affairs, and many more.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at a University in Europe America Australia and Asia (excluding the Indian subcontinent) 
• An applicant must be a permanent resident of Tibet 
• The candidate must show proof of Tibetan Heritage and the continuity of dhanglang chatrel contribution 
• The candidates are solely responsible for obtaining the necessary visa 
• An applicant must be pursuing graduate studies whether at the master’s or Ph.D. level 

Financial Benefits

• The selected candidates will be rewarded with USD 10,000

Selection Process

• The evaluation of the application will be done by the independent selection committee of the Dalai Lama Graduate Scholarship Program 
• The students who will be selected for the final round of interviews will be notified in June 2025. 
• The final decision will be conveyed by the committee through email in July 2025. 
• For the renewable process, the application will undergo thorough review and renewal will not be automatic 
• All decisions are final and the committable provides feedback for the reason for selection or rejection
