The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research has launched the SCAR Antarctic Fellowship to provide early career research opportunities to young researchers. Under this fellowship, financial help will be provided to the young researcher so that they can start their project from another country without worrying about any financial problems. About Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR)

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research was established on 3-5 February 1958 by Haque to provide high-quality International scientific research in the Antarctic region. It is the thematic organization of the International Science Council which is conducted by its science group that represents the scientific disciplines on Antarctic Research and reports to SCAR. The main objective of launching this organization is to provide independent scientific advice to the Antarctic Treaty consultative meeting and other organizations on issues of Science and conservation affecting the management of the Antarctic system. Until now this organisation has grown an international network with 1000 scientists who share a common ambition to carry out Antarctic science for the benefit of the society.

Eligibility Criteria

An applicant can join the Fellowship within 5 years of completing the phd and Antarctic and Southern ocean related disciplines.
An applicant must visit and Antarctic research facility by a SCAR Member Country
The candidate must contribute to the objective of one more SCAR science group, including the humanities and Social Science group and Scientific Research Programme.

Reward Details

The selected candidates will be rewarded with 4 5 awards of USD$15,000 per award.
Along with that applicants will also get a home institute to bear in their home country.
The applicants will get a host institute to waive bench fees.
