The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, launched the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for the Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles 2024. This scheme has been launched by the government to support education for wards and widows of Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles (CAPFs & AR) Personnel. Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for the Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles 2024 uses education to promote social advancement and betterment of the families of soldiers. These scholarships are given to retired military personnel, widows and wards of martyred soldiers, and police officers. Eligibility Criteria
- In order to qualify, a candidate needs to be the ward or widow of retired and active CAPFs and AR personnel (Personnel below Officer Rank) OR
- Be the ward or widow of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel who died in harness, while on election duty, or who were injured as a result of causes related to government service OR
- Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel who received gallantry awards
- Be a dependent ward of state police officers killed in terrorist or Naxal incidents
- Be enrolled in a first professional degree program in one of the following fields: engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.Sc. (nursing, agriculture, etc.), MBA, MCA, etc.;
- The program must be recognized by government regulatory bodies like the University Grant Commission (UGC), the Medical Council of India (MCI), and the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Scholarship Amount and Duration
- Two thousand new scholarships total, one thousand for each of the genders applying.
- Male candidates who are chosen will receive financial aid of INR 2,500 per month, while female hopefuls will receive INR 3,000.

Required Documents
For Fresh Applicant:
- Aadhaar Card
- Service Certificate to be issued by the H.O.O in case of serving personnel as per Annexure-A.
- Applicants are required to upload a duly attested scanned copy of the Mark sheet MEQ i.e. XII/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent is mandatory along with the following certificate which is applicable:
- PPO/Discharge Certificate/Book (Mandatory for category A to F)
- Disability Certificate (Mandatory for category B & D)
- Death Certificate (Mandatory for category A & C)
- Certificate of Gallantry award (Mandatory for category E)
For Renewal:
- Service Certificate to be issued by the H.O.O. in case of serving personnel as per Annexure-A.
- The certificate issued by the educational institution (for category A to F)
Benefits of Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles
The benefits under the scheme are as follows:
- Amount of Scholarship:
- ₹3,000/- per month for girls.
- ₹2,500/- per month for boys
- Note: The above scholarship amount is to be paid annually after selection @ ₹36,000/- to each girl & ₹30,000/- to each boy.
Reservation Under Scholarship
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to reserve 10% of vacancies in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles for Agniveers.
Selection Process
The selection of the candidates will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ).

New Applicant Registration:
Step 1: Click “New Registration” under “Applicant Corner” on the official NSP website.
Step 2: Read the instructions and guidelines, check the box to indicate your commitment, and then click “Continue.”
Step 3: Complete the necessary information to begin the registration process.
Applicants who have registered:
Step 1: Go to the official NSP website and select “Applicant Corner” -> “Fresh Application.”
Step 2: Enter your application ID and password to log in.
Choose the Scholarship in Step Three.
Step 4: Complete the application.
Step 5: Submit and upload the necessary files.

Step 1: Go to the official NSP website and select the dropdown menu on the homepage
Step 2: after clicking on that scroll down and you will see a Login option. Click on that.
Step 3: you will be redirected to another page and then on that page fill in the required details.
