Overview of International Earth Science Olympiad IESO 2024
The Ministry of Earth Science has launched the International Earth Science Olympiad. Through the International Earth Science Olympiad awareness will be created about the origin of the universe, and the evaluation of life on Earth. To participate in the Olympiad students are required to clear the national level entrance test. After that, the students will be sent to training camps. At the end of training camp, the Olympiad will be held. All those students who are interested in getting the benefit of this scheme can submit their application through the official website. The entrance test under this scheme will be held on 2nd December 2023 students across the globe will be able to participate under the scheme

Objective of International Earth Science Olympiad IESO
- The main objective of the Olympiad is to motivate students in the field of universe evolution of life on earth

Training Camp
- An entrance test will be held for selecting the students for the training camp
- The entrance test will be held on the second of December 2023
- The entrance test will be 90 minutes
- This test will comprise English and objective-type questions on geology, jio physics, meteorology, oceanography, terrestrial astronomy, and environmental sciences
- Students passing the entrance test can participate in the training camp
- This training camp will be three weeks long
- It will be held in May or June 2024
- This training camp will comprise lectures, discussions, data mining, and poster presentation
- The Indian National Earth Science Olympiad will be held at the end of the camp
- The top four students will be declared as winners
- The four winners of the Olympiad will participate in the to be held in Bejing China
Selection Process
- Those candidates who want to participate in the Olympiad are required to submit their registration online
- After submitting registration beneficiaries are required to participate in the entrance test
- Around 25 students will be chosen in order of merit to attend the training camp
- Three-week training camp will be organised which will comprise of lectures and discussions
