The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya(USTM) has launched the USTM Special Scholarships for 500 North East Students 2025. To allow the students of North East States to pursue their higher education without any financial struggle, the University of Science and Technology has introduced a special scholarship for 500 needy students. With the help of the scholarship, the students can easily pursue higher education and achieve their dreams, and build their careers with the help of education. Motive of USTM Special Scholarships
The main objective of launching the scholarship is to allow the students of the North East States to get a scholarship and pursue higher education. The scholarships are categorised as follows: Merit-Based (250), Sports Achievements (50), Cultural Achievements (50), Children of Tea Garden Workers (50), Residents of Majuli & Dhemaji (20), Families of Freedom Fighters or Martyrs (20), Children affected by violence and conflict (20), Children of Media Personnel (20), and Orphan or Single Girl Child (20). According to the information, the authorities have announced a 100% scholarship for students who are the state board toppers of the northeast states.

- Toppers of state boards in NE are eligible for a 100% scholarship.
- EWS category students can apply for 50% merit-cum-means scholarships.
- Candidates scoring above 60 percentile in JEE (Mains), GATE, CAT, MAT, XAT are eligible.
- Students with achievements in sports/cultural/co-curricular activities are eligible.
- Physically challenged students are eligible for a 30% scholarship.
- Special categories like orphans, single girl children, children of martyrs/media/tea garden workers, and those from conflict-affected areas are eligible.

Selection Process
