What Is SIA Youth Scholarship 2024?

A new scholarship has been created by the Ministry of Education Singapore to provide educational opportunities among students of Asian countries such as China and India. Under the SIA Youth Scholarship, the student will be provided with financial assistance to continue free University studies in selected junior colleges belonging to Singapore. The main aim of launching this scheme is to provide opportunities so that the children can develop their leadership communication and other life skills. This scholarship will help in bringing goodwill and understanding among the children of Asian countries.

Objective Of SIA Youth Scholarship

As we all know there are many students who want to pursue their higher education at universities that are situated abroad in India. But due to a lack of opportunities, they are not able to pursue education through universities outside India. By keeping this in mind the Ministry of Education Singapore has launched a new scheme known as the SIA Youth Scholarship. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to a student who belongs to Asian countries to pursue their higher education in select junior colleges in Singapore. The main objective of launching this scheme is to provide an opportunity to children to develop the quality of leadership communication and other life skill

Rewards Under SIA Youth Scholarship

The following awards will be provided to the selected students under the SIA Youth Scholarship

• The scholarship amount will be provided to the students for 2-year duration leading to the award of the Singapore Cambridge general certificate of education
• 2400 Singapore dollars will be given to the student as an annual allowance
• Each selected student will be rewarded with a returned economic class air package
• 500 Singapore dollars will be provided to the selected student as a settling allowance
• The complete school fee coverage will be provided to the student
• Along with that the subsidized medical benefit and accident insurance coverage will be provided to the student
• GCA Level examination fees are covered under this scheme

Selection Criteria Of Scholarship

The following selection criteria are needed to avail the benefit under SIA Youth Scholarship

• Screening of the student’s application form for the academic record will be done.
• The list will be prepared by the concerned authorities on the basis of academic records.
• The candidates that are available under this list will go to the selection test.
• The test subjects will be mathematics general ability mental ability and English language questions
• The admit card will be provided to the students before the 2-3 weeks of the examination
• This is scholarship test will conduct in Delhi in the month of September
• The student who cleared the scholarship test will go through the interview session
• This interview will take place in the month of October
• The selected candidates are notified about the selection
• If the student has not received any notification then she has not passed the initial academic screening

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to apply under SIA Youth Scholarship is given below

• An applicant should be a national of India
• He/ She must be born between the years 2001 and 2003
• The candidate must have passed their class 10 in 2020
• An applicant must contain an excellent academic record
• An applicant must have scored at least 80% of marks in their 10th examination with English as a first language

Terms & Conditions

• Applicants are only allowed to fill out the application form once the year
• Students selected in the shortlist will be notified at least one week in advance for the test and interview
• This scholarship will be provided for 2 years at select Singapore junior colleges
• The renewal of the application will be done annually on the basis of academic and overall performance
• The candidates of fulfill the eligibility criteria and apply for the scholarship will have to use a new email ID
