About SERB

The Science and Engineering Research Board was established in the year 2009 under the Department of science and Technology Government of India. This organization was set up to promote basic research in science and engineering and to provide financial assistance to scientific academic institutions etc for research opportunities. With the help of this financial assistance, people will be able to achieve their dreams and build their careers in the science and technology field without worrying about any financial hurdles. This organization was set up a promote basic research in science and engineering to students who are interested in the technology field

Eligibility Criteria

• An applicant must be a permanent resident of India 
• The candidate must hold PhD degree in science or engineering 
• An applicant must hold a regular academic or research position in a recognized academic institution. 
• An applicant who is recruited through UGC faculty or eligible to apply. 
• The upper age limit for this scheme is 37 years 
• The student belonging to SC ST OBC and physically challenged can apply for up to 40 years 

Reward Details

• The candidates will be rewarded with the one-time award and research grant up to INR 50 lakhs for 3 year 
• This research ground will cover equipment research, personal consumable travel and contingency overhead.
