About Raman Charpak Fellowship 2024
Raman Charpak Fellowship 2024 was created in order to provide honor to Nobel Laureates in Physics, Prof C.V. Raman, Indian Nobel Laureate (1930), and Prof Georges Charpak, French Nobel Laureate (1992). This fellowship program was created when the president of France visited India in February 2013. The aim of this fellowship program is to provide financial support to Indian and French Ph.D. research scholars for the duration of two to six months. The scholarship will be available for students pursuing education in selected fields of courses. You can easily apply for the scholarship starting from May 2022 and the last date to submit your application will be in the month of July.

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria in the Raman Charpak Scholarship.
- Candidates from India should be an Indian citizens and reside in India.
- He/she must have registered for a Ph.D. in a recognized university or research institution in India.
- Applicants from France must be residing in France and have registered for a Ph.D. in a recognized university or research institution in France.
- The applicants should hold a Master’s degree in science, technology, or medicine from a recognized University/Institute.
- The maximum age of the applicant should be 30 years as of April First Week of 2021.
- Students once supported by CEFIPRA, also in the framework of CEFIPRA projects, and students who have a permanent position in institutions/universities are not eligible.
- The applicant should have prior consent to their Institute / University to apply for a foreign fellowship program.
- A letter of recommendation from the Ph.D. supervisor in his/her native lab.
- A letter of recommendation and agreement from the proposed host supervisor in the fellowship lab
Raman Charpak Fellowship Benefits Available
The following benefits will be provided to the candidates in this scholarship:-
- For Indian Fellow:
- The selected candidates from India will receive fellowship Support of 1500 Euros per month for daily expenses, local travel, accommodation charges plus Social Security charges
- For French Fellow:
- The selected candidates of Franc will get fellowship support Rs. 40,000 per month for daily expenses, local travel, etc. plus accommodation charges not exceeding Rs. 45,000 per month.
- The selected candidates will be offered with To and Fro airfare ticket in economy class between India and France
- Insurance coverage (travel & health) wherever is required.
- Any administrative costs for Visa and Registration (if any) will be given to the selected candidates.
- A Fellow may be provided with additional support (up to Euro 500 for Indian Fellows and equivalent support in Indian Rupees for French Fellows) for participating in a Seminar/Workshop during their term of the fellowship and stay in their host countries.
- During the fellowship period of selected candidates, no support will be given to the family members of the candidates.
Required Documents
The following documents must be submitted in this scholarship scheme:-
- Submit 5 pages long Details description of the Research Plan in the prescribed format giving the title and research work plan explanation of the benefits that the candidate will receive during their stay in a proposed research institute or university in France or India.
- Research Proposal A two pages Curriculum Vitae in the prescribed format with a current photograph and CV should summarise the achievement and research interests.
- Format of CV
- A letter of recommendation from the Ph.D. supervisor in his/her native lab
- A letter of recommendation and agreement from the proposed host supervisor in the fellowship lab
- Ph.D. synopsis or summary of Ph.D. work
- Research experience letter
- No Objection Certificate from the Head of the Institution
- Scanned copy of the Master’s degree certificate and Ph.D. registration letter
- Scanned copy of a valid passport, both front, and back
- A recent photograph of the candidate
