The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is an undergraduate medical degree awarded to students after completing a five-and-a-half-year course, including a one-year compulsory internship. It is the foundational qualification required to become a medical doctor in countries like India. The MBBS program covers subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics & Gynecology. All India Medical Scholarship Entrance Test (AIMSET)

To provide an opportunity to the students who want to pursue MBBS, the authorities have launched the All India Medical Scholarship Entrance Test (AIMSET). With the help of this scholarship, the students can pursue their MBBS without any financial restrictions. The duration of the MBBS degree is four and a half years. 

Eligibility

  • The students must have passed 10+2 with physics, chemistry, and biology with a minimum aggregate of 50% each.
  • The students must qualify CET, AIPMET, or AIMEE with a good percentile to get admission for this course.
  • The age limit to appear for this course is between 17-25 years in India.

Vidyavridhi Medical Scholarship

The Yashoda Foundation has launched the Vidyavridhi Medical Scholarship. Under this scholarship, the authorities will provide financial assistance to students who want to pursue MBBS. The financial assistance of INR 10000 to 50000 will be given to the students each year for a total of 4 years. Every year, 10 students from the academic batch will be selected under the scholarship. 

Eligibility 

  • 10 Students per academic batch.
  • 40 Students intake for all 4 academic batches in the scholarship launch year.
  • In all consecutive years, 10 first-year students will be onboarded.
  • Students must apply for the scholarship extension every academic year.

All India Pre Medical Scholarship Test Secondary (AIPMST)

To provide an opportunity to the students who want to pursue MBBS, the authorities have launched the All India Pre Medical Test Secondary (AIPMST). With the help of this scholarship, the students can pursue their MBBS without any financial restrictions. All the students who want to pursue MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BUMS courses are eligible to avail the benefits of the scholarship. 

Eligibility 

  • Eligible for MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BUMS scholarships.
  • Must have qualified or appeared in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB).
  • Should be from a recognized board like CBSE, ICSE, etc.
  • Must have registered or will register for NEET.
  • The student must be born on or after October 1997
  • SC/ST/PH candidates: Born on or after 1 Oct 1992 (5-year relaxation).

Central Sector Scheme Of Scholarships For College And University Students

The Government of India has launched the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students. To allow the students to pursue medical degrees from various colleges and Universities in India, the Government of India has introduced the central sector scheme of scholarships. All the students who have Science as a main subject in class 12 and are between the age group of 18 and 25 years will be selected under the scheme. 

Eligibility 

  • The students must be permanent residents of India.
  • The students must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 80% marks in Science, Commerce, or Humanities from a recognized board following the 10+2 pattern or equivalent.
  • The students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program in a professional field at a college or institution recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or any other relevant regulatory body.
  • The annual income of the student’s family must not exceed INR 4.5 lakh.

Financial Assistance For Education To The Wards Of Beedi/Cine/Iomc/Lsdm- Post Matric

The Government of India has launched the Financial Assistance for Education To The Wards of Beedi/Cine/Iomc/Lsdm- Post Matric. All the students selected under the scheme will receive financial assistance of INR 25000 for pursuing higher education. All the students who are the children of the Beedi/Iron Ore Mines, Manganese Ore & Chrome Ore Mines (IOMC)/Limestone Mines, Dolomite Mines (LSDM)/Mica Mines, and Cine Workers are eligible under the scheme. 

Eligibility 

  • Either parent must be a Beedi, Mine, or Cine worker with at least 6 months of service (includes contract/home-based workers).
  • Family income limits:
    • a. Beedi Workers – up to INR 10,000/month
    • b. Mine Workers – no wage limit for manual/unskilled/skilled/clerical workers; INR 10,000/month for supervisory/managerial staff
    • c. Cine Workers – INR 8,000/month (or ₹1,00,000 lump sum/in installments)
  • The students must have passed the last qualifying exam in the first attempt (promotion to the next class also acceptable)
  • The students must not be eligible if studying through correspondence
  • The students must be admitted to a recognized Indian institution for regular courses (general/technical/medical/engineering/agriculture)

ONGC Scholarship

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has launched the ONGC Scholarship. With the help of this scholarship, the students can easily pursue their medical degree without going through any financial difficulties. Financial assistance of INR 48000 per annum will be given to the selected deserving students under the scholarship. The students who belong to the OBC, SC, ST, and general categories will be selected for the scholarships. 

Eligibility 

  • The students must be permanent residents of India.
  • The students must want to pursue their degree in healthcare. 
  • The students must have obtained a minimum score of 60% in class 12th for enrollment in UG courses i.e., Engineering and MBBS. 
  • The students must have a minimum 0.6 (OGPA/CGPA)  on 10 10-point scale of the grading system.
  • The age limit of the applying candidate should not be more than 30 years as of 1st Aug 2024
  • The Annual income of the applicant’s family must not be more than INR 4.50 lakhs per annum.

GSK Scholarship 

The GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd has launched the GSK Scholarship. To provide financial assistance to students to belong to a financially weak background to pursue an MBBS degree, the authorities launched the scholarship. Under this scholarship, the students will receive financial assistance of INR 1 lakh each year for a total of 4 years. 

Eligibility 

  • The students must be permanent residents of India and pursuing an MBBS.
  • The students must have secured a minimum of 65% marks in their Class 12 board examinations.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6,00,000 from all sources.
  • Children of employees of GSK Pharmaceuticals and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply.

STEM Stars Scholarship

The Infosys Foundation has launched the STEM Stars Scholarship. Under this scholarship, the students will receive financial assistance of INR 1 lakh each year for a total of 4 years. Under this scholarship, the authorities will provide an opportunity to female students and allow them to complete their education after class 12th. According to the information, a total of 1000 female citizens will be selected. 

Eligibility 

  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 7 in engineering and related courses through the end of the course.
  • A passing grade in every subject for the entire MBBS year in order to continue enrolling till the end of the course.
  • The student’s family income must be less than or equivalent to ₹8 lakh per year.
  • The students cannot have received funding for the same costs from another program.

MEXT scholarship

The Embassy of Japan in India has launched the MEXT scholarship. With the help of this scholarship, the students will have a chance to pursue their higher education at top universities in Japan. With the help of this scholarship, the students can pursue their degree in Healthcare without any financial difficulties. All the students who are below the age of 35 years will be selected under the scholarship. 

Eligibility 

  • Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 70% marks. 
  • The students should have practical research/teaching/work experience after obtaining the prescribed qualification on or before September 30, 2026, for the October 2026 batch.

Islamic Development Bank Scholarships 

The Islamic Development Bank Scholarships has launched the Islamic Development Bank Scholarships. To provide financial assistance and other benefits to students who want to pursue their degree in Medical Science, the Islamic Development Bank has introduced a scholarship. 

Eligibility 

  • The students must be citizens of an IsDB member country or a Muslim community in a non-member country.
  • The students must have completed senior secondary education (or equivalent of 12 years of education) with good grades in major science subjects.
  • The students must have secured admission in a recognized public/government medical university in their home country.
  • The students must choose a field related to medicine, such as MBBS, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, etc.
