Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be an active scientist with a record of outstanding performance apparent from the award of the SS Bhatnagar prize and/or fellowship of science academies (including engineering, agriculture and medicine).
- The applicant must be in service at the time of nomination to this fellowship.
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of India and must be working in Indian universities.
Fellowship Stipend Details
- The fellowship amount is Rs. 25,000 per month in addition to regular income.
- Research grant of Rs. 15.00 lakh per annum.
- Overhead of Rs.1.00 lakh per annum to the host institute.
J C Bose National Fellowship Duration
- The duration of the fellowship will be 5 years.
- The fellowship can be continued if the host Institute is willing to host the fellowship program for an extended period.
- The tenure of the fellowship can be extended for 5 years based on the assessment of the research performance during the previous tenure of the scheme.
- A minimum of 25% of the applicants who wish to extend the fellowship program will be granted the extension.
- The fellowship can be availed up to 68 years of age.

Selection Process
- The students will be selected for the fellowship program twice a year according to the rules and regulations.
- The selection will be done by a search selection committee which will be specially constituted for this specific purpose according to the guidelines of the scheme.
- Applicants who show exceptional performance will be selected for the fellowship program based on their experience.
- The educational performance of the students will also be considered when selecting them.

- Now, go to Menu –> Proposal Submission –> Form Submission.
- Some of the details of the Nominee like Name, email, contact details, area of specialization, educational qualifications, employment details & research experience etc. have to be entered at the time of submission.
- Research Contribution in the Last 5 years of the Nominee has to be uploaded in a single PDF file not more than 10 MB
