About INAE Chair Professorship 2023
INAE Chair Professorship has been started by the Indian National Academy of Engineering for engineers/ technologists. Under this scheme, the academy is going to provide financial support. The duration of the tenure will be maximum for a maximum period of three years, subject to age being below 65 years. There are only 6 positions. The scheme has been started to promote long-term participation in academic research and enhance the research standards in academic institutions.

Objective Of INAE Chair Professorship
The main objective of the scheme is to:-
- Encourage engineers/technologists with outstanding research contributions
- Promote long-term participation in academic research
- Enhance the research standards in academic institutions.
Benefits Of INAE Professorship
- Selected applicants will get
- The honorarium of Rs 40,000/- per month
- Contingency amount of Rs 1,00,000/- per annum
- The contingency grant amount can be used to meet the expenditure related to research activities such as chemicals, consumables, materials, equipment, and instruments; on a reimbursement basis at the end of each year.
- A maximum amount of Rs 50,000/- of contingency grant can be utilized for covering registration for conferences and partial travel support for conferences both domestic and overseas
Eligibility Criteria
- The age of the application should be between 45 to 65 years
- The appellant should have been a follower of the academy for three years at least.
- The appellant should have been in the Rank of Professor in academic institutions or equivalent to the rank of professor either in an R&D organization or in the engineering industry/organizations
