The Duolingo DETermined Scholarship 2025-26, which aims to empower Indian women in STEM, has been unveiled by the Duolingo English Test (DET). This was revealed at a press conference in New Delhi by Severin Hacker, the CTO and co-founder of Duolingo. This was introduced by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) GoI, in partnership with the Duolingo English Test (DET). Applications will be available on the Manthan site starting in June 2025. When completing their applications, candidates should indicate their DET score of 120. Objective of Duolingo DETermined Scholarship
The primary objective of the Duolingo DETermined Scholarship is to provide scholarships to women who want to study in the field of STEM. The DETermined Scholarship will offer a one-time award of USD 30,000 to help Indian women pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in STEM subjects at U.S. colleges. This program was started in partnership with the Government of India’s Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser with the goal of addressing the financial obstacles that Indian women in STEM confront and advancing international academic possibilities. Women who intend to start their studies in the Spring 2026 semester at universities that accept DET scores for entrance are eligible for the grant.
