About DBT Fellowship in Genetic Diagnostics 2023
The Government of India has created a 6-month DBT fellowship in genetic diagnosis for the faculty or the clinicians only from the government medical colleges and hospitals present in India. 4 candidates will be selected in a year from each center. Genetics has become an integral part of medicine and that’s why this Fellowship is presented by the Indian government in order to provide proper opportunities to the clinicians or the faculty who are currently practicing in the Indian government hospitals or colleges present all across the country. This Fellowship will provide training in cytogenetic and molecular genetic techniques. It is a prestigious program to get training in the exciting field of genetics.

Benefits Of DBT Fellowship in Genetic Diagnostics
The following benefits will be provided to the people who will be eligible for the DBT fellowships:-
- The trainees/clinicians from outstation institutes will be paid a displacement allowance of INR 30,000 per month.

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria in order to apply for this scholarship:-
- The applicant must be a postgraduate degree holder (MD/MS/DNB) in Pediatrics, Medicine or Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Laboratory Hematology, Laboratory Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Dermatology, Hematology, Radiotherapy, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, or any other clinical/paraclinical specialty/Superspecialty
- The applicant must hold a regular position in Government medical college/hospital
- The candidates will be selected based on their experience and a telephone interview.

DBT Fellowship in Genetic Diagnostics Application Process
The applicant must follow the following application procedure to apply for this fellowship:-
- You must download the DBT Fellowship notification for the scholarship by clicking on the link given here
- The application form is also attached to the official notification.
- You have to take a printout of the application form.
- Application forms along with self-attested photocopies of degree certificates, MCI registration certificates, and experience certificates should be sent to the Training Coordinator of a particular institution.
- The application should be forwarded by the Head (Director / Principal) of the institute. A soft copy of the application is to be sent by email to the Training Coordinator of the concerned center (s) and it should be followed by a duly forwarded hard copy of the application along with copies of necessary certificates (If there is a delay in submitting the application through proper channel, candidate can submit advance copy within the last date of application to consider candidature; and application through the proper channel can be submitted so as to reach to the concerned training center coordinator by 10th October 2022).
