Post Graduate Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST
This financial assistance (offered via UGC) is offered to 1,000 SC/ST candidates who are pursuing postgraduate courses in professional subjects via the National Scholarship Portal.
The tenure of the scholarship is for two/ three years depending upon the tenure of the PG course
Selected candidates will be provided a scholarship amount of INR 7,800 per month for the duration of the PG Scholarship. For other courses, INR 4,500 per month

Teaching Assistant Stipend
Chandigarh University also offers an assistantship option for MSc and ME students. They get INR 5,000 and INR 8,000 per month, respectively, for a maximum of 10 months per year.
CGPA-Based Scholarships
10% scholarships of the total are also given to the students who have attained 9.0 or above CGPA provided that the student is not availing of any other scholarship.
Scholarship Scheme for wards of defense personnel
5% seats in all courses of Chandigarh University is reserved for the wards and spouses of defense martyrs and their immediate dependent members. Scholarship for Family Members of CU staff (2024)
The wards/spouses and real brothers/ sisters of CU staff (with at least one year of regular service at CU) are offered a 50% concession in academic fees. It will continue till the staff member is working with Chandigarh University.
Early Bird Scholarship for PG students (2024)
Students seeking admission to Master of Engineering Programs can avail early-bird scholarships as per the following conditions:
A 15% scholarship is to be given to the students who have completed their UG in Engineering from Chandigarh University, provided they pay the full semester fee at the time of admission.
10% scholarship is to be given to the students who have finished their UG in Engineering from/ Technology from other recognized universities/ institutes.
Scholarship for students who’ve participated in National Children Science Congress
Top 10 award winners of NCSC (every year) is awarded a 100% fee waiver if they take admission to any UG course at Chandigarh University. Additionally, all UG aspirants who have participated in NCSC are given a 10% fee waiver by Chandigarh University.
Other Fee Concessions
Old Student Concession Policy to Promote Higher Education:-
The students of the entire CGC group, who seek admission to CU after qualifying degree/diploma will be provided a scholarship equivalent to 10% of the yearly fee for the entire duration of the course.
Single Girl Child Concession:-
CU provides a 10% concession on the yearly fee to a single girl child for the entire duration of the course.
Teacher’s Ward Concession:-
CU provides a 10% concession on the yearly fee to the wards of teachers for the entire duration of the course. (Teachers of Govt. / Govt. recognized schools/ colleges/ universities) provided a teacher should have at least one year of regular service.
Sibling Concession:-
The University offers a 10% concession on a yearly fee to one of the siblings studying in any institute of CU, till the time both the siblings are studying at the university.
Concession to Girl Sibling:-
CU provides a 10% concession on the yearly fee to both female siblings for the entire duration of the course.
For Orphan Candidates:-
20% of concession will be given and in the case of Single Parents, 10% of concession is already applicable.
Covid Warrior Scheme:-
CU has introduced a new scholarship scheme i.e. “COVID WARRIOR SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME” for students admitted during Academic Session 2022-23. This scheme will be applicable to those students whose parents are regular employees of the above organizations. In this scheme, the University will provide a 10% concession on the Academic Fees.
Alumni Scholarship
10% concession will also be allowed to the real brother/ sister/spouse/Wards of the alumni student of this university
Scholarship Scheme for Wards of Defence Personnel for the Academic Year 2022-23
As a gesture of appreciation and salutation to our Defence forces who are always there to protect our borders and our lives, CU has devised a Reservation cum Fee Waiver Scheme for Defence Personnel, wards, and their spouse. This scheme is also a part of our social responsibility towards special sections of our society.
Concession under Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS) for Wards/Spouse of Defence Personnel
Wards and spouses of different categories of Defence personnel admitted under the above scheme will also be given the benefit of freeship in the prescribed semester fee.
5% seats in all courses of Chandigarh University shall be reserved for the wards and spouses of Defence Martyrs and their immediate dependent members.
Early Bird Scholarship For PG Students For The Academic Year 2022-23
The Scholarship will be available to the graduate students for admission in all the Master’s level programs of Chandigarh University (excluding MBA), for the 2022-23 session as per the following condition-
15% Scholarship to be given to the students who have completed Bachelor’s degree from Chandigarh University.
10 % Scholarship to the students who have completed their Bachelor’s degree from other Universities.
