Objective of the Australian Maitri Scholarship 

The goal of the Australian Maitri Scholarship for Indian Students is to encourage the best students from India to enroll in Australian universities for postgraduate studies in STEM-related subjects. It will develop closer economic and educational relations between India and Australia and will make connections between Australian companies researchers and alumni. It also aims to reduce financial stress by paying for living expenses, travel, and tuition. Offer networking and professional growth opportunities. Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for applying to this program are given below:- 

• The applicant should possess Indian citizenship.
• The applicant should not currently hold Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident.
• The applicant has to be a new student in an Australian university.
•  Ensure they are proposing to study an approved course with appropriately qualified academic and industrial panel oversight at the nominated campus after completing an eligible Higher Degree by Research (HDR) application through the nominating Australian university.
•  Pledge to take part in activities and events hosted by their Australian university, the Centre, or the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
•  Conform to the Maitri Scholarships Program Agreement and related documents, such as the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, and maintain a valid student (subclass 500) visa for the term of the award.

Financial Benefits 

For scholars pursuing a master’s degree by research, the grant amount ranges from $115,000 to $236,000. For researchers pursuing a PhD, the award amount ranges from $220,000 to $439,000. Though some awards may be more or less than this sum, we expect the majority of grants to be between $115,000 and $380,000.

Required Documents 

The documents required for registering under this scheme are given below:-

• An indicative budget that includes a timeline of expenditure.
• A project management plan.
• A risk management plan.
• Resume of the nominated scholar or fellow.
• Letters of support from all partner organizations named, and evidence of support from your Vice-Chancellor (if applying for the Maitri Scholarships Program).

The candidates will be selected by the given procedure:-

• The applicant should clear all the eligibility criteria to get selected under this program.
• The applicant should be a permanent resident of the country of India.

• Step 2:- After this, you need to click on the new application button.
• Step 3:- Follow the steps provided no later than 5:00 pm AEDT on 25 November 2024. 
• Step 4:- Applicants will be notified of the outcomes from February 2025. 
• Step 5:- by following this procedure you will be done with the application process.
