About ASEAN India
The ASEAN India is a science and technology working group that was established in 1996. Marking the official beginning of the ASEAN-India Science and Technology Collaboration. The ASEAN India Fund (AIF) was originally used to support helpful science and technology projects and activities between India and ASEAN. The ASEAN corporation provides researchers all over the world an opportunity to work in India, also providing them fellowship for 2 to 6 months. However, in 2008, MEA and DST jointly established the ASEAN India S&T Development Fund, which has a value of $1 million US. This collaboration was done to support research and development projects and related project development activities.

- Under this fellowship program, a total of fifty fellows will be chosen. Benefits of the fellowship include the following:
- a combined fellowship of INR 50,000 (non-taxable) per month for living expenses, food, and other miscellaneous. All costs associated with overseas travel
- A one-time grant of INR 40,000 for six months to cover research emergency costs, airport transportation, road travel within India to attend scientific meetings and events, and INR 2,500 per month for institutional overhead
