The Government of Maharashtra has launched Dr Punjab Rao Deshmukh hostel maintenance allowance scheme. This scheme is an initiative of the Directorate of Medical Education Research, Government of Maharashtra. Under the scheme financial assistance will be provided to students pursuing specified medical courses in government aided or corporation or private colleges. Students will be eligible to receive a hostel maintenance allowance of up to Rs 30000 per annum under the scheme. In order to get the benefit of the scheme the annual income of the student should be less than 1 lakh. With the implementation of this scheme, students will not be required to depend on anyone in order to pursue higher education. - The student must have been admitted under the general or SEBC category
- Student must be a child of registered labor
