Culture Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2023: The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) is a leading organisation dedicated to bridging the gap between education and culture. Smt. Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay and Dr Kapila Vatsyayan founded it in 1979, and it now operates as an autonomous institution within the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. About Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2023
The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) (an independent organisation under the Ministry of Culture of the Government of India) has launched the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2023 for children aged 10 to 14. The goal of this programme is to give specialised instruction in numerous cultural sectors to gifted youngsters, with a specific focus on rare art forms on the edge of extinction. The selected students will get INR 3,600 per year in addition to a tuition cost refund of up to INR 9,000 per year. Objective of Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme
The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship (CTSS) Scheme is being implemented by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), an autonomous entity of the Ministry of Culture. The scholarship scheme strives to provide exceptional young children with opportunities to develop their skills in a variety of cultural sectors, including traditional forms of music, dance, and theatre, as well as painting, sculpture, crafts, and literary activities.
Benefits of Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme
The scholarship is originally granted for two years and is renewed until the awardee reaches the age of twenty, provided that the awardee continues to make satisfactory progress. The scholarship bearer will get Rs. 3600/- every year in addition to reimbursement of the actual tuition amount paid to the Guru/Teacher, up to a maximum of Rs. 9000/- per year.
Every year, 650 new scholarships are awarded, with 100 reserved for students interested in tribal culture (ST candidates), 125 for children from families who practise traditional arts, 20 for Divyaang (Differently Abled) children, and (as of 2016) 30 for students interested in creative writing/literary arts.
Selection Process
- The students are selected on the basis of a central selection committee and the regional selection committee.
- The final decisions of the communities will not be disregarded by the candidates.
- Students will be selected on the basis of their performance in the interview or the entrance exam.
- After submitting the application form, the committee will send a post to the shortlisted candidates informing them about the date and the venue of the interview.
- CCRT will be conducting the interview for the scholarship at the regional level.
- Each committee member will access the students on a scale of 1 to 10.
- Students will be selected on the basis of the total score.
- Students are also selected on the basis of the scholarship slots.
- After the selection, the students should be enrolled in an institute that allows academic studies and cultural training.
- You must only enter the Institute approved by CCRT Institute.
CCRT Scholarship Allocation
A total of 650 slots are available and the sorts are allocated on the basis of the following departments:

Important Terms and Conditions
- The applicant must be between the ages of 10 to 14 years.
- The scholarship result will be available on the official website.
- The candidates applying through the Traditional Artist Family (TAF) category should submit a report about their family’s contribution to the classical Indian art form for the last three generations.
- The teacher of the candidate will have to send a detailed progress report every 6 months during this scholarship tenure. The report is to be sent to the CCRT center in New Delhi in the prescribed format from January to June by 15th July and from July to December by 15 January.
- Candidates are allowed to change their teachers under unavoidable circumstances before the commitment of the scholarship. However, the approval must be gained before the change in a joining report presented by the CCRT institute and you must also justify your reason.
- State-wise or union territory-wise quota is not available under this scholarship.
- All disputes and complaints against the scholarship must be submitted to the Delhi High Court.
- The terms and conditions of this scholarship can be changed according to the institute under unavoidable circumstances.
- If the candidates pursuing the CCRT scholarship discontinue it before the programme’s end without prior permission and justification, the institute will immediately cancel the CCRT scholarship. The candidates will also fail to receive the CCRT scholarship certificate.
- While availing of the CCRT scholarship benefits, the candidates should not receive any other scholarship or stipend in the concerned art form without the organizers’ approval.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must meet the following criteria in order to be considered:
- The applicants should be between 10 years to 14 years of age.
- The candidates should study in recognised schools or be part of a Traditional Artist Family (TAF).
- The candidates should have an essential educational qualification.
- They should have a proficiency degree in their choice of a traditional art form.
- The candidates should have trained for a minimum of five years under their guru, teacher or in an institute.
- They should submit an attested certificate from their guru, teacher, or institute to verify their training sessions.
- Besides considering students’ talents and potential, the committee will prefer candidates with a family income of not more than INR 8,000 per month.

Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2023 FAQs
Students can change their teacher or Guru under any circumstances but you will have to do so before the program is conducted. You need to also obtain approval for the new teacher in the joining report prescribed by the institute and you will also have to justify your reason.
If the students are not satisfied with any terms and conditions under the scholarship then they will have to take their disputes and the complaint against the scholarship scheme directly to Delhi High Court.
The applicant can apply for the scholarship scheme if they are between the age of 10 to 14 years and the financial awards will only be provided to 650 students.
The organisers provide the CCRT scholarship for two years. At the end of the CCRT scholarship tenure, the candidates can either continue until their first degree of education or before they turn 20 years, whichever is earlier. However, the renewal of the CCRT scholarship is subject to the candidate’s progress.
