Rotary Peace Fellowship is awarded to the students to help them learn about peace and development through ground knowledge. People who are selected for this fellowship program are provided practical knowledge about peace and development. Around 130 fellows are selected for this fellowship program every year to provide an exceptional study environment. There are two types of Fellowship programs available by the organization. A master’s program and professional development certificate program is available. The duration of the master’s programs can be between 15 to 24 months and the certificate program is only for one year.

Rotary Peace Fellowship for Master’s Degree Programs
The Masters program of this Fellowship will have a duration of 15 to 24 months. Individuals who have a bachelor’s Degree in a related field will be selected for the master’s program. People must have experience in peace and development to get a chance. Students who show exceptional performance in providing peace and development will be selected for the fellowship program. The students are welcome from all financial and social backgrounds from around the world so that the fellowship program can be as diverse as it can be. Students are required to apply before 15th May to be eligible.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be proficient in English
- The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree
- The applicant must have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service
- The applicant must have the potential for leadership
- The applicant must have at least three years of full-time relevant experience in peace or development work
- Candidates must have a gap of at least three years between the completion of their most recent academic degree program (undergraduate or graduate degree) and their intended start date for the fellowship.
- Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program are not eligible to apply.
- Rotary Peace Fellows who have completed the certificate program, or a Global Grant Scholarship, must wait three years between the end date of that program and their intended start date for the fellowship.
- An active Rotary member or an employee of a Rotary club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity is not eligible.

Rotary Peace Fellowship for Professional Development Certificate Program
A certificate program is also provided by the foundation through which people can easily get a certificate upon Commission. Around 80 Professional Development Certificate Program by the foundation. The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree to successfully apply for the certificate program. The applicant must also have relevant experience in peace or development to be eligible for the program. You will need 11 weeks of Campus work to be eligible for the certificate of completion of the program. The duration of this fellowship program is very short.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must speak good English.
- The applicant must have a Bachelors Degree.
- The applicant must have 5 years of full-time experience in peace or development work.
- The applicant must have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace as shown through professional and academic achievements and personal or community service.
- The applicant must have relevant leadership skills.
- The applicant must be able to explain how their plan to promote peace aligns with Rotary’s mission
- Candidates for Makerere University: Either be from Africa, have worked in Africa, work with African communities or initiatives outside the continent, or demonstrate a compelling interest in learning about peacebuilding approaches within the region.
- Candidates for Bahçeşehir University: Either be from the Middle East or North Africa, have worked in the region, work elsewhere around the world with communities or initiatives related to the Middle East or North Africa, or demonstrate a compelling interest in learning about peacebuilding approaches within the region.
- Candidates must have a gap of at least three years between the completion of their most recent academic degree program (undergraduate or graduate degree) and their intended start date for the fellowship. Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program are not eligible to apply.
- Rotary Peace Fellows who have completed the master’s degree program, or a Global Grant Scholarship, must wait three years between the end date of that program and their intended start date for the fellowship.

- Each year, The Rotary Foundation awards up to 50 fellowships for master’s degrees and up to 80 for certificate studies at premier universities.
